At Harvest, parents play an active role in their child’s education. We believe parents are ultimately responsible for training their children, and our role as educators is to come alongside them. Here is what we ask of every Harvest family.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
What We Ask of Harvest Families
- Homeschool days: parents teach the at-home lessons from the lesson plans our teachers prepare, and make sure the work is turned in on time. Lower School students learn at home on Thursday and Friday, and Middle and High School students on Friday.
- Generations parenting course: parents new to Harvest complete the Generations parenting course during their first year.
- Community events: families attend four of the six community events held each school year.
- Parent Partners: Lower School parents help in the classroom about once a month, and Upper School parents help with one special event each year.
- Fundraisers: two each year, $350 each per family.
- Program meetings: required parent meetings each year for Athletics, Fine Arts, the High School retreat and similar programs.
- Background check: each parent completes a background check through the Florida Clearinghouse (about $85).
