Baby Chicks Hatch in First Grade

Fluffy yellow, brown and black baby chicks gather around a feeder in the first grade classroom.

We’re “cracking” up in first grade!

The baby chicks have hatched after a 3-week incubation in the classroom. The baby chicks will be hanging out in the classroom for the next 3 weeks as the students observe them growing and changing. This fun hands-on learning experience brought the class closer in community as they anxiously awaited “hatch day”! It was the sweetest thing when they all sang “Happy Birthday” to the chicks once they were out and about. Don’t worry, all the baby chicks will be going home with some very lucky first grade families.
