The High School Experience

Harvest High School students meet four days each week, Monday / Wednesday and Tuesday / Thursday. While Friday is considered a school day and work is assigned the student schedule is flexible and Friday is an opportunity to apprentice, intern, service projects and extra curricular activities. All HCHS core courses are offered at honors level.

Block Schedule & Dual Enrollment

We have developed a four-year curriculum track that runs on a block schedule, which allows students to have fewer classes per day with longer classroom instruction. Because HCHS teaches on a block schedule, students are able to take dual enrollment classes at FSCJ. Dual Enrollment gives students the ability to take college courses during their junior and senior years in high school. This course work will award the students both High School and College credits.

Guidance

Harvest Community High School has developed a four-year plan that guides students through their high school requirements and toward plans for their future. The program begins with a meeting with parents of eighth-grade students, walks each student through the grade level requirements, and ends with a program for seniors to discuss their transition to college. The Principal and Vice-Principal will oversee and guides those students who qualify and pursue the dual enrollment track.

Dating vs. Courting

It is the desire of HCHS that all families are in agreement and like-minded when it comes to purity. Although the specifics on how each family chooses to direct their child in this area may vary, the goal is the same. In Biblical relationships, commitment precedes intimacy. Within this model, the man should follow the admonition in 1Timothy 5:1-2…to treat all young women to whom he is not married, as sisters with absolute purity.

This information should assist families who are considering Harvest as a home for their student. Our desire is to come alongside parents and partner in the spiritual growth and maturity of their student.

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22
