Each year we take our senior students away after orientation to build community and plan for the year. Our primary goal is to put Christ first by engaging in student-led worship and through exhortation in scripture. This year’s theme was centered around full devotion and highlighted the difference between relationship with Jesus and religiosity. Our key passage stemmed from Zechariah 7.
During our time at Lake Swan, students were able to strengthen friendships by engaging in various activities the campus affords. Students were able to deepen trust and strengthen teamwork as they engaged in several course challenges designed to highlight those aspects of relationship.
Our students were highlighted by multiple staff members as exemplifying extraordinary character, and several volunteers carved out time for waterfront activities that were canceled due to weather challenges because they enjoyed our students and their kindness for each other as well as camp staff so much.
The seniors ultimately worked hard to plan themes for various events and determine their goals for the year. Each senior wrote down goals that were shared with parents to pray over as the year progresses.
