The Parent Experience

Parents remain involved in the education of their students throughout their time at Harvest. We believe that parents are ultimately responsible for training their children, and that our role as educators is to come alongside parents as they complete God’s instruction from Deuteronomy 6:

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

At Harvest we expect parents to be involved! For instance, in Middle School parents are obligated to check and sign math homework weekly. They also must assist their children in the completion of their work on Thursdays and Fridays. In addition, parents are also responsible to volunteer as a “Parent Partner” to help out either at the school or with a special event. Since the Middle School years are filled with growth and changes in maturity, we want to partner with parents in order to successfully meet the academic, spiritual and social needs of every student. We encourage parents and teachers to remain in communication throughout each year to better achieve this goal.
